Premier manufacturer of fine cotton correspondence papers seeks a self-motivated, independent, energetic Sales Associate for its boxed stationery line.
The Sales Associate will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Crane retailers in order to maximize the sales of Crane products and meet client objectives. This will be achieved through regular customer visits, day to day ordering, stocking, visual merchandising (creation of compelling window and in-store product placement and displays), and inventory tracking of Crane Stationery products at locations in the greater Boston area (in most cases, within a 100 mile radius of downtown). The position will require the Sales Associate to travel to and from three to five customers a day, with mileage reimbursement. Some weekend work and overnight travel may be required.
More specifically, Sales Associate duties will include:
Conduct inventories, scan products, and create orders for approval by Store Manager/Owner
Straighten product, dust and clean shelves and fixtures as needed (Merchandise and display products on in-store fixtures)
Build and maintain displays, implementing shelf schematics and point-of-sale as directed by District Manager
Assist in Crane-sponsored store events
Review priorities, determine call schedules, discuss special instructions, product promotions, and new product introductions by communicating regularly with District Manager
Maintain weekly call reports
Requirements
Knowledge (Education/Training) or equivalent:
High School Diploma, required
Some college or Bachelors Degree highly desirable
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient in Outlook or other e-mail software
Ability to use internet applications and web sites
Ability to learn, or experience with PDAs, Pocket PCs, or other handheld computer devices
Experience/Skills:
1-3 years experience with sales merchandising in retail environment
Self-motivated and independent
Proven excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Good organization skills to effectively structure own schedule
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks
Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor
Access to high-speed internet connection on a daily basis
Must be able to travel to and from 3-5 customers a day and perform some weekend work and overnight travel
Must be licensed driver with reliable transportation and good driving record
