Candidate will develop a comprehensive and coherent documentation strategy incorporating printed material, on-line help and the World Wide Web to help end users get the most from CardScan.
Design and create the printed manual included in the CardScan package.
Design and create the on-line help that’s integrated into the CardScan software.
Coordinate work with illustrator and printer to establish and meet production schedules
This position requires working closely with software engineers, quality assurance engineers, and production.
Writer will be responsible for all phases of producing documentation including, documentation planning, information gathering, writing, reviews, and editing.
Work with developers and managers in implementing style guides and standards.
Work on special projects as needed.
Ability to quickly learn technical aspects of various software products.
Familiar with source code control such as SourceSafe.
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years writing tech docs for consumer software applications for Windows and Mac OS.
3+ years writing online help for end-users.
BA or BS plus five+ years experience writing technical documentation for Windows and Macintosh software applications.
Operating systems: Windows and MacOS.
Ability to work well with others and independently.
Ability to consistently meet deadlines and deliver high-quality materials.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience writing on-line help and printed documentation for a non-technical audience.
Knowledge of Adobe RoboHelp or similar software for creating Windows and Macintosh on-line help.
Knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker or similar software for creating User’s Guides.
Strong web publishing skills; write and maintain web-based documentation (HTML, XML).
