Full Time Junior Programmer
ColdFusion/.ASP/.NET
The American Meteorological Society (AMS) in Boston, Massachusetts is seeking a full time junior programmer to develop new and support existing web applications.
The AMS promotes the development and dissemination of information and education on the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences and the advancement of their professional applications. Founded in 1919, AMS has a membership of more than 12,000 professionals, professors, students, and weather enthusiasts. AMS publishes nine atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic journals — in print and online — sponsors more than 12 conferences annually, and offers numerous programs and services. Interested candidates must have the following qualifications:
• 1-2 Years programming experience
• Strong technical ability with ColdFusion and/or ASP .Net
• Experience with relational databases: SQL Server, MySQL, MS Access
• Strong skill using SQL queries and updates
• Knowledge of basic web languages such as HTML, Javascript, DHTML, CSS
• Good attitude and ability to work with an IS team of 4 FTE and 3 Contract developers
• Comfortable working in a mix of eclectic environments from VB / C# in WinForms to web development using ColdFusion, ASP.NET and Apache / Tomcat
• Available references.
The following qualifications are helpful although not required:
• Experience with the following languages is a plus: XML, Visual Basic .Net
• Experience developing web applications for membership organizations
