ABOUT OUR PRACTICE:
At the Law Offices of Joshua L. Goldstein, P.C., we practice in all areas of immigration and nationality law. We are especially interested in helping families and providing guidance and advocacy in obtaining temporary work visas, visa extensions, and permanent resident ("greencard") status for foreign nationals. We represent professional athletes, models and entertainers who seek temporary work permits and greencards. We assist clients in becoming naturalized United States citizens, and solving problems with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) and the Department of State, including consulate petitions. We also work on cases involving political asylum, the Violence Against Women Act (“VAWA”), NACARA, HRIFA and other areas of immigration law.
We are particularly committed to preventing the destruction of families by deportation, and to obtaining release from jail for persons detained by the Department of Homeland Security. We practice in Immigration Court, United States District Court, United States Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.
We are experts in helping people who have applied for greencards, citizenship and other immigration benefits but who have been delayed for significant periods of time often because of a so-called “name check”, “background check” and “security check”. We have been successful in solving these delays by suing the USCIS, FBI and other agencies in federal court.
In addition, our practice includes criminal and family matters when they touch on immigration issues. And finally, we pursue legal action against lawyers, notarios, consultants and others who have dishonestly attempted to represent immigrants.
