Summary:
In collaboration with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Assistant Director will further develop, maintain, and grow a strong corporate and foundation relations program in support of the fundraising activities of the College. Working with others on the team, and with key individuals throughout the College, the Assistant Director will help develop and implement strategies for corporate and foundation support, and write grant proposals and stewardship reports to corporations and foundations. The Assistant Director will be responsible for his or her own portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects, as well as for fundraising for specific College priorities. To thrive in this environment, the Associate Director must be entrepreneurial, results-oriented, prospect-focused, strategic and intuitive, and also comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess administrative experience in fundraising environment, preferably higher education. Must possess exceptional writing skills, with demonstrated ability researching and writing grants. Must be highly organized and able to keep others on task, with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Must have demonstrated ability to juggle and meet deadlines. Must also have experience and a comfort-level in dealing with multiple constituencies, preferably upper administration, faculty, and trustees. This individual will also be expected to work independently and to be self motivated in initiating contacts by phone, mail, email, and personal visits with potential donors. He/she will also be expected to work in an open, honest, collegial manner with the C&F team in creating and implementing strategies for cultivation, solicitation and closure of corporate and foundation gifts. The ideal candidate will have a particular interest in building corporate support for the College through community outreach and collaboration with the Career Education Center and the Alumni Relations Office.
