Part-time Teaching Openings at Leventhal Sidman Jewish Community Center





Artist-teachers wanted for a variety of workshops with a focus on specific projects for children ages kindergarten through middle school.



Requirements:

· At least 1 year teaching experience in a public or private school, an after school/continuing education program, or a camp setting

· Competent teaching methods and classroom management skills

· A general knowledge or interest in Jewish culture

· A general knowledge of 2-D and 3-D media including ceramics and simple glazing techniques, painting, and printmaking

· Creativity, flexibility, a passion for teaching children, patience and a sense of humor



Workshop size will vary from about 20 to 35 students. Our workshops typically take place on Sundays. The JCC is not accessible by public transportation and therefore you must have a car. Pay is competitive. Teachers will be oriented to the program and projects. Workshops will begin in October and extend into spring 2008.
