We seek a top performer with proven sales experience building and managing direct end-user sales territory. The ideal candidate has experience with sound masking, audio, audio-visual or security products, or sound contracting or audio-visual contracting services. Experience in the commercial building and construction process is a plus. Excellent technical support and marketing with a track record of delivering leads ensures your success!
The candidate will develop our Northeast territory, prospecting and networking with existing customers, partners, influencers and trade organizations. Most large installations involve various levels of contact with architects, general contractors, facility managers, cabling installers and acoustical consultants.
Specific responsibilities:
• Develop and support end-user customers in the Northeast territory
• Develop relationships with local influencers (e.g. architects, general contractors, acoustical consultants) and trade groups (e.g. IFMA)
• Develop several “go-to” local resellers and local installers as appropriate
• Clearly present our product features, articulating our benefits over competing products and determining prospects ability to succeed with our technology
• Report, document, manage and track leads through our ACT database
• Develop end-user customer references
• Post-sale follow up to ensure customer satisfaction
Criteria for a successful candidate:
• A Bachelor’s degree
• Demonstrated success directly selling a technical product to end-user customers in a commission-driven environment
• Ability to prospect through cold calling, networking, building alliances and mining our existing database
• Proven negotiation skills with technical proposals
• Effective listening and questioning skills
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Flexibility for local travel (25-50% time)
• Desire to contribute to the success of a small company of energetic, highly motivated team players
Position reports directly to the VP of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. The combination of base salary and commission will provide a total compensation of $100,000- $120,000 at target, more for a top performer.
