I took my son to the Randolph Movie Theater to see Avatar today, Jan 18, 2010.
Randolph has the best theater around the South Shore, although thier ticket prices are absolutely rediculous. 11.75 for me, 11.00 for my son, (thanks for the big childrens discount). I thought that 22.75 was a little steep for a movie. But what really pisses me off is the extra .50 per ticket service charge. Am I paying and extra .50 cents to get that girl behind the register to sell me the tickets? Isn't that what her boss gives her an hourly wage for? Or am I paying him to pay his employee's? What the F@#& is the service charge for? then if that wasnt enough, two regular size Icee's, a small popcorn, and a pack of twizzlers... $19.00??? Are they F'n kidding me? $42.75 for a movie and snacks for me and my son?
I know its common knowledge that movie theaters have always ripped off thier customers, but gimme a break, and in this economy, I realize they need to make money, but the people going to these movies arent rich.
Anyway, Braintree Cinema isn't as nice as Randolph, but its not as expensive either. In this economy, with everyone watching thier bottom line, you might wanna think twice before going to Randolph to see a movie, I know I will.
